Agribusiness/Bioscience Committee
The Agribusiness/Bioscience Committee promotes value added agriculture and bioscience development in Johnson County by serving as a communication and education network to the agricultural community and the general chamber membership. The committee meets monthly, in addition to hosting the Ag/Bioscience Breakfast series and Ag/Bioscience Tour, described below. Members of the Ag/Bioscience Committee plan the Community Leadership Program Ag/Bioscience Session and select the Farm Youth Scholarships and Honored Farm Family Award. The Ag Breakfast series features speakers on current topics in the field of agriculture or bioscience. Breakfasts are held once a month from January to March. Attendance ranges from 30-40. In August, the committee hosts an annual tour of sites related to Agriculture and Bioscience in Johnson County and the surrounding area. Past sites have included the Washington County bio-diesel plant, Integrated DNA Technologies and Practical Environmental Solutions. Approximate attendance is 30.

Community Leadership Program (CLP) 2009-2010
The Community Leadership Program (CLP) is an innovative community-building initiative of the Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce. The program is designed to motivate emerging leaders and develop their potential for leadership by acquainting them with the issues, dynamics, opportunities, realities and challenges within our community. Program sessions run once a month from September to June. Twenty-four local business leaders participate each year. 2009 marks our 20th year for the program.

Community Leadership Program Alumni Association
